Started with the books. I have toyed with the idea of sorting some of them and since it’s a gloomy Sunday why not today? Wrong. Got some cook books out. Found some more sewing books for which I need to make room in the studio. And then started pilling professional books vs. field guides vs. novels vs. books about travel and within 20 minutes I felt emotionally and physically exhausted. I have counted 49 unpacked boxes of books
and now I know there is no way these books get unpacked until the library shelves are installed and painted. And do I want to steal precious baking center space for the most used cookbooks? It’s not like I can get them all out together so why not keep them all together in the library? And yes the home repair books and gardening books go in the garden room, but should all the field guides? And it’s all because an INTJ is married to an INTP. And then there is the 1918 encyclopedia that jim wanted me to give away but I can’t do it as it was my mother’s prize as a child. And the lands and people series from my grade school years. Neither worth much money except in nostalgia and my updike and salinger first editions and those religion school books with the sarcastic captions written by a bored third grader egged on by my brother as he studied to become a bar mitvah. In that hand writing I purposely changed for effect--- do all girls practice writing their signature? That signature that finally became medicinal when I had to sign hundreds of billing forms monthly when working for the medical school. The one I still use which people think is just me signing my first name. especially the clods at elmore county who wrote everything very neatly with anal precision. Too bad they reserved that anal precision only for their signatures not for the work they did with children. Which I admit was mind numbing and only in a few instances was it even meaningful. O god the nightmare of giving an IQ test in broom closet- I am not making this up.
The short version of this is that I am going to take a nap. ciao
