“A pair of shoes can change your life. Just ask Cinderella.”

sunday sunday --- three allergy shots next week too

well another week where Jim drew lines through about 20 odd jobs on the honey do list. and most importantly I finally have a pot rack up so I can get things out of boxes and drawers. Now I am on to painting some pieces of furniture new colors and tomorrow at some unknown time the cabinet installers arrive to start that job. when its done I tile the back splashes and move  on to the library and customizing my closet before I need to dig out winter clothing. Jim gets back on Columbus Day and then thanksgiving and then for Christmas week he arrives permanently. It's been a long time and I am really looking forward to the cold and rain with someone larger and more talkative than Abigail. as much as a I adore her company. Rachel left Friday. the trash situation will change and I empties the refrigerator of a large trash bag of junk food or molded food. Arlene reminds me that this is life with a young person coming back to live. today we found a pizza box in the garage. these are small complaints and no one could have been a more wonderful respectful and interesting young woman. I just really love having things my way and it was fun to set up the guest room properly, create a gym and pretty mud room  off the garage and get the scent of Pantene shampoo out of everything. Abi likes having strangers gone and she is doing a lot of exploring, she even has a third litter box location for her adventures. What surprised me the most is the lack of a thank you note or a small gift from any of the three (southern) women I entertained. Neither G nor C nor R made the slightest move. Even NYer's are better mannered than this  and it goes to show that southern graciousness is not a consistent thing but  only used when advantageous. I was no more than a "land lady" to this pair although I think I extended myself quite far to make then at home and accommodate there many quirks and frequent messiness.

Next is the temple situation as the High Holy Days arrive soon and I have to chose among four places without even trying them out. the summer has flown and I had better get moving. Or maybe a Buddhist place would suit me more. I wonder if the politics are les s caustic in a Buddhist organization. SO it is late and I sleep alone for several weeks again. and tomorrow  the workmen and racket will descend on me again  but I have painting and tiling and glazing to keep me going plus reupholstering the dining room chairs with a great moss green on green fabric that will look smashing agst the deep red of the dining room. Oh and last week I learned on Google that P has moved to Salem. This is very very very creepy indeed. But we did get in a trip to Mt St Helens. pretty awesome place. Good night and Good luck.
