“A pair of shoes can change your life. Just ask Cinderella.”

the times they are a changin'

Things I did routinely at 35 that I no longer do:
got manicures

shaved my legs and armpits

had professional haircuts

wrote long letters with pen and ink

wore a bra whenever I went out

had tea in the afternoons or evenings

slept very late on weekends

threw tantrums when things went wrong

raced my husband to the toilet

carried a large purse with tons of stuff

wore mascara

gossiped

went camping

discussed politics at dinner

got nervous about dinner parties

agonize over the "right" gift for people

hope I looked "pretty"

Things I routinely do at my current age (gotcha) that I never did before:

go out with wet hair and let the air dry it

put my keys on a hook so I don't lose them

let my legs winterize witha layer of fuzz

wear clogs

leave my nails natural

cut my own hair in a blunt bob

feel fine about last minute dinner invitees and go with grace

hold doors open for everyone

stop to look at babies

get allergy shots so I can have a cat

laugh when dinner falls on the floor

carry the minimum in a small leather shoulder nag

have a cell phone

use a palm pilot as my memory

wear SPF 45 all the time on my face

keep a garden log

know all my neighbors

always get up around 7:30

hope I am "nice" to most people.

change is good
